One month to go!!!
It’s finally November. Just 28 days until we set off on our trip. Only four more weeks of the daily grind until we say goodbye

One of the things we’ve found most useful in preparing for our trip is reading websites and other travellers’ blogs to get an idea of
A lift to the airport from Rich’s brother, three flights, and a longtail boat later, we arrived in Asia shell-shocked and headed straight to Railay beach in Thailand.
Railay is a climbers haven; I’ve never gone any further than an introduction course but I’m told it’s great. Nightlife is still ok, especially if you’re a Bob Marley fan (which seems to be on repeat in nearly every bar).
The infamous Phi Phi is a favourite amongst decades of backpackers. It offers turquoise warm waters, white powder sand and that small island feeling.
Just a quick post, we’re on Koh Lipe in a hut in the Jungle. Had a few days of torrential rain (see video below). Have also picked up a few pets along the way.
Doing nothing is not as easy as you might think. It actually takes some practise. Luckily for us, we had two weeks on Koh Lipe to hone our skills, an island so small you can walk from one side to the other in around 20 minutes. The waters are as clear as anything you have seen on any postcard and the sand powder white. It’s an idyllic location that’s definitely already been ‘discovered’, but worth the time to get there.
It was decided early on that Lanta would be our destination for Christmas as it is an easy island to spend time on
We counted down to midnight with 30,000 people as we watched the most fantastic fireworks show – some of the biggest and loudest I’ve ever seen! Then it was more drinking and dancing until we decided we’d had enough around 4am.
Ok, it’s been a month. Enough tanning, beach bars and moonlit walks, it’s time we started to actually do something. We leave Koh Phangan a few days after
